I returned from Barcelona late last night, after an incredible, much-needed vacation. The city is amazing, HUGE really, and it was nice to escape the Pamplona bubble for a few days.

Throughout the weekend, my friend and I managed to visit the Sagrada Familia, Parc Guell, Plaza Catalunya, Passeig de Gracia, Las Ramblas, the Port Olimpico, and more, all while utilizing the metro (which was a totally new world for me).

I had no idea how big Barcelona was until I was standing on the edge of the Parc Guell, overlooking the city and it’s massive expanse. Barcelona was great to visit for a weekend, but I have to be honest, I was very glad to get back to Pamplona where it’s quiet and I wasn’t constantly worried about getting pick-pocketed.

Getting away for the weekend helped me gain back some sanity, although I currently have a serious case of the Mondays. I guess that’s to be expected after my first full weekend off since June!
